Worship Service

This Sunday we looked at the life of Jesus and his desire to follow His Father’s will. Faced with one alternative option by Satan in the desert and taking the cup of God's wrath, Jesus asked his Father if there was another way. Jesus was not delivered from his peril, so that those who believe will be raised to new life in Christ.

Worship Service

Last Sunday we launched into our sermon series on prayer: Prayers of the Righteous. This week we looked at the life of Daniel.

When Jesus taught his disciples to pray, it started with, "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name" (Matthew 6:9). Hallowing God's name is more than just treating his name with respect; it is our whole-hearted effort to live our lives according to what our heavenly Father has taught us. It is honoring God with our lives. Watch it here: https://youtu.be/O7NKuDxMwIo?t=256.

Worship Service

This Sunday we launched into our sermon series on prayer: Prayers of the Righteous

James tells us that the prayers of a righteous person are powerful and effective. But as we also have heard in the Old Testament, there is no one that is righteous––not one.

So where does our righteousness come from? We’re able to talk to God as our Father because of the righteousness given to us by the Son, Jesus Christ.

This week we looked at Jesus’ instruction to his disciples on prayer from the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 6:5-15. Watch it here: https://youtu.be/HcMA1grz-Zo?t=294.

This Sunday we took a step back and looked at the letter to the surrounding region of Ephesus as a whole. We discussed our identity in Christ, our testimony, our memory verse, and the importance of works–that God uses them for us to exercise faith: https://youtu.be/ZOQCJvEe-U0?t=334.

Worship Service

In this week’s service, we took a look at Ephesians 6:21–24: Paul’s final greeting to the believers surrounding Ephesus.

As he wrapped up the letter, Paul mentioned a beloved brother, a faithful minister, and (according to Colossians) a fellow servant––someone who would answer all questions, encourage them, expound on the letter, and represent Onesimus before Philemon. This man was named Tychicus.

Sunday School

This week the kids learned about Jesus appearing to his disciples in Luke 24:36–49, John 20:19–29, and Acts 1:3. In these accounts, we see ways that Jesus prepared the disciples by connecting his sacrifice to the Old Testament scriptures, explaining more about the kingdom of God, and telling them to wait for the Holy Spirit would come.

Worship Service

In this week’s service, we took a look at Ephesians 6:16–20. In this passage, Paul discusses the rest of the armor of God and asks the church for prayer.

What armor of God does Paul write about?

  • The shield of faith.
  • The helmet of salvation.
  • The sword of the Spirit.

Paul also emphasizes the importance of prayer. It’s a reminder we need to be a church that prays.
